Do I need to visit a general dentist?
There are also some oral health conditions that may not be obvious to you because they don’t cause any pain or aren’t visible. Sometimes, cavities don’t even hurt until they require immediate treatment.
If you come into our Grand Rapids office for your regular six-month appointments, we can make sure your teeth are clean and detect any issues before they require more invasive treatments.

- Avoid sugary, sticky, or acidic food and beverages
- Use products that contain fluoride

In addition to following the above-mentioned tips, make sure that you contact our office to schedule biannual checkups and professional cleanings by calling (616) 942-9595. During your appointments, we’ll be sure to thoroughly examine your teeth and gums to look for any signs of decay.
I knocked out a tooth, can it be saved?
- Rinse the tooth so it’s free of debris
- Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root
- Place the tooth in a container with milk
