Dentures and Partial Dentures in Grand Rapids

For patients who are missing teeth, essential oral functions like chewing, drinking, and speaking can become difficult or impossible. Patients can also become conscious of their appearance, which significantly holds back their personal and professional lives.

At Robson Family Dental, we don't want our patients to live their lives that way. There is a world waiting out there, and we don't think you should let your smile hold you back.

DA happy female patient with Dentures and Partial Dentures in Grand Rapidsentures provide an economical solution for patients missing teeth. They can return both functionality and confidence to a patient's smile. We can create dentures that look natural and shape them to fit the patient's mouth with modern dental technology. The result is a set of dentures that look like the patient's natural teeth.

Dentures are also non-invasive, making them preferable for many patients who want to avoid other surgical options like dental implants.

They can also produce results faster, and as soon as your customized set of dentures is completed, they can instantly change your smile.

Dentures help support your oral health by supporting your remaining teeth and jawbone structure.

Dentures can also make eating easier for many patients allowing them to eat a more diverse range of food to improve their diet. Dentures fill out the patient's smile and can revitalize their life by helping them do some of the things they love again–like smiling and laughing with friends.

Dentures come in two basic types to suit two different needs.

Partial Dentures

Just like they sound, partial dentures are only a part of a row of teeth, allowing them to replace groups of a few—generally three or more— missing teeth. Partial dentures are a perfect solution for patients who are not missing enough of their teeth to justify a set of full dentures, and those who want to retain their natural teeth.

What most patients think of when they think of dentures, complete dentures cover an entire row of teeth and can help patients who are missing all of their teeth on an arch.

Full dentures provide a relatively fast solution to the problem of missing teeth.

If the patient has a few remaining teeth that would get in the way of a full row of dentures, it might be more practical to extract the remaining teeth to make room for a full set of dentures.

To determine if dentures are the best solution for your dental needs, come into our dental office to meet with Dr. Robson. He can conduct a thorough examination, make recommendations, and together, you can come up with a treatment plan based on your wants and needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

A denture in Grand Rapids might be a good solution for your smile if you're struggling with losing multiple teeth. Here's an overview of the types of dentures we offer at Robson Family Dental.

Partial Dentures

A partial denture fills in the gaps when you're missing multiple teeth but still have quite a few healthy teeth. With a partial, artificial porcelain teeth attach to an appliance that anchors to your healthy teeth with metal clasps. Like a puzzle piece, your partial fills in the gaps, completes your smile, and restores function.

Full or Complete Dentures

This option is for patients who need to replace all of their teeth. A denture is made of acrylic and designed to restore your smile and fill in your facial structure. Traditional removable dentures rely on suction to your jawbone to stay in place.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Our dentist in East Grand Rapids can strategically place a few dental implants to support a complete denture. The denture snaps into the implants, keeping them secure and preventing movement or slippage when you talk, laugh, or eat.

If you want to learn more about dentures and if they might suit your needs, contact Robson Family Dental today to schedule an evaluation.
