For patients looking to change their smile completely, veneers provide one of the fastest and least invasive methods for helping patients have movie star-quality smiles. Being confident can change your life in many unpredictable positive ways. Not holding back your smile for fear of how it will look changes how people will interpret you is a gift.

Many of our patients wonder what it would be like if they had the smile of their dreams. Well, there isn't any need to wonder because it is possible. Even if your teeth are naturally small or misshapen, we can help create the perfect smile for you.

Patients looking to change their smile completely should consider veneers. It is a special type of modern cosmetic dentistry that can give patients the smile they have always dreamed of.

Most patients will make good candidates for veneers though it will be necessary to correct existing issues like cavities or gum disease before a patient can get a veneer on that tooth. Meet with your local Grand Rapids dentist to discuss the possibility of dental veneers

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain placed over the existing tooth, changing its shape, color, and surface texture. This hides discoloration, chips, cracks, pits, and other kinds of cosmetic damage on the surface of teeth.

Veneers can even create the appearance of a straight tooth for some misalignments. Dr. Robson can apply a veneer to just one tooth or all visible front teeth. A complete set of veneers can reshape your smile.

Porcelain is almost as durable as enamel and more stain-resistant, meaning that your smile will stay perfectly white longer and is more resistant to decay and trauma. To place the veneers on your teeth, the dentist will have to remove a thin enamel layer that will allow them to seat veneer on the tooth so that it looks natural. This means that veneers are a permanent cosmetic procedure.

Patients can achieve a smile they might have never thought possible. The dentist can shape each veneer to perfectly fit the patient's mouth and facial structure.

Frequently Asked Questions

A veneer is a cosmetic dental appliance that the dentist places right on the tooth, a bit like a dental crown.

This requires a thin layer of enamel to be removed from the tooth so that the veneer can rest on the tooth correctly. Veneers are a permanent dental procedure.

Benefits of Dental Veneers

The benefits of veneers are enormous. Veneers can reshape a patient's smile in a big way, and the procedure is minimally invasive.

Veneers can correct the appearance many flaws and imperfections in a patient's smile:

  • Pits in the surface enamel
  • Cracks or chips on the tooth
  • Discolored enamel
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Unsightly bite patterns

The overall effect of a complete set of veneers is a 'movie-star' smile that looks practically perfect. The dentist can shape the veneers to fit naturally in the patient's mouth, in harmony with each patient's unique anatomy. The veneers are more stain-resistant than the natural enamel, making it so that the patient's smile stays bright white much longer.

Most patients in good dental health are good candidates for veneers. Patients with a teeth-grinding habit may need to wear a nightguard to protect their dentistry and their natural teeth.
